Not a thing, so far as I can tell. It's sort of a feel-good thing. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to it, though I will admit that when you see someone with a several thousand posts, and their red, or just barely green with a 3 or 4, they're usually not worth wasting your time on. In that respect, I suppose it's helpful.
