Kessler: Risk Can Reap Rewards…so Why Not Dawson?

And in your eyes that means he ducked him?
Well to some that was a good idea because Tarver is a better fighter.
An interesting argument considering Kessler's decision to face his mandatory no matter how terrible he is.Comment

Im not really sure how Dawson is 'ducking' Diaconu. Diaconu aint a bad fighter, but what do you think was the bigger fight? Tarver or Diaconu? and judging by his record, he doesnt look like he would be that huge of a threat, seems like he only barely beat Chris Henry.
anyways, I would love to see Kessler fight Taylor or unify the titles. hopefully he wont have to blow away any more of these weak opponents.Comment

Last article I read on Dawson said he ducked Diaconu FIVE times so far.

Ain't that the truth. I've been calling for a ban on this clown for weeks. The guy is weirdo who's obsessed with Joe Calzaghe. Reason he slates Kessler is because he was a Calzaghe opponent and people respect him. Simple as that.

Dawson lost to Johnson. After that, I lost respect for Chad and the fact him and his goons haven't offered a rematch.

****, I give him credit for taking that fight ONCE. Everyone complains about not getting a fight but they never want to fight Johnson. And if I had a nickel for every fighter who didn't give a rematch...ahem.
But back to the point...switch writers, he has no idea what he's talking about. Five times? Man, can I have his job?Comment

No I deliberately did not use that word although a lot of other posters would. At the time I said it was a matter of economics. A fight with Tarver meant a larger purse. So electing not to face Diaconu was a business move. I could argue however, that it in a sporting sense it was a duck indeed.Comment

Ehh...I don't think so. Diaconu has not proven to be on Tarver's level. End of story. No I deliberately did not use that word although a lot of other posters would. For example, fighting Jermain Taylor for Kessler over a mandatory is a business move - but it's also a BETTER move if he's better than the mandatory.Comment
