Am I the onlyone who thinks their outa be a HEIGHT limit for each division?

Just cause someone is very tall doesn't guarantee them the victory. The weight is the important thing. While having advantages being tall has disadvantages as well. It is usually easier for the shorter person to work effectively on the inside. That's just one example I won't go into great detail. Kind of a dumb question really.Comment

It's not a foolish question...I've had the thought myself a few times, when I see someone like Wlad against someone the size of Toney. It happens, but in lower weight classes it doesn't matter as much because of the weight limits themselves. You can only gain so much weight and be competetive with someone else who's taller but more slender and weighs the same, so it evens out pretty well.
In the heavyweight division, however, there have been size mismatches since time began. The problem with setting other limits (or creating another weight class, "Superheavyweight") is that it would wreak havoc with competition.Comment

I agree! I think it's about the ******est statement I've heard on this site. If you make the weight you deserve to fight in the weight class. Alot of times the clash of styles are due to the height differences. That's what keeps things interesting.Comment

Its actually harder for tall fighters to make weight so if they're willing to work HARDER in the gym why shouldnt they benefit from it?Comment

Give me a break! Tyson in his prime would have KO'd both klitches, and that other 7' foot russian monster! All three are world champs as of now. Tyson was shorter than Margarito(welterweight) too at 5' 10" 1/2. He would use his build to his advantage getting inside where the opponents length was not a threat and devistate inside with short powerfull punches. Don't dare mention Lewis either......That wasn't "TYSON" fighting that night and you know that. It's not a foolish question...I've had the thought myself a few times, when I see someone like Wlad against someone the size of Toney.
