I don't think Showtime does long-term deals with fighters. That was there little "catch." Maybe that's changed but I doubt it.

Obviously there's a lot of smoke coming out of Palles HQ. He's saying that he has "several offers".... tsk tsk... He is looking to gain some negotiating leverage there I would think.

The HBO-offer comes from one paper while another stated that Palle had an offer for Kessler to fight Dawson. It's my own speculation that it might have been HBO trying to make that fight. I think the preference from Palle/Kessler is:

1: Calzaghe
2: Hopkins
3: Taylor
4: Bute
5: Dawson
6: Froch

I see. I suspect they'll hold their cards close to the vest until after Taylor-Lacy.

They should wait until after the Taylor/Lacy fight. I'm pretty sure HBO would be interested in a Taylor/Kessler fight. I doubt Froch, Inkin, or Bute would fight Kessler at this point.

Froch would fight Kessler, trust me.

Nice outline Bat. Does anyone know if Kesslers mentioned actual names recently like post fight for instance? He seemed to mention a few names earlier this year like Pavlik but now just says big fights, or Americans, he needs to say names and call out to get guys rialled and build some press attention. I feel his teams naive to that side of boxing.

I'm not so optimistic about one of these fights coming off I'm afraid especially given recent fights not coming off this year in boxing as a whole. He's not getting Calzaghe or Hopkins imo, and both beat him anyway. Dawson you mention they've received an offer, not sure how solid that is, it's tight but should be seriously considered.

Also, surely Taylor is way more favoured and assumed over Lacy, than Froch is over Pascal?

Immidiately after the Haussler fight the only name Kessler mentioned was Calzaghe's. In the same breath he also said it was unlikely. He does have a list of 5 fighters he'd like to meet. That's Calzaghe, Hopkins, Pavlik, Taylor and RJJ if I recall correctly.
