He was also faking low blows to buy himself time since his stamina was dying out in the later rounds, so I won't cry Hopkins a river for claiming he was robbed. He robbed the fans from those fake lowblows. The punches Calzaghe landed were above his cup area. No room for that cheating **** in boxing. Oh, and he was using his intentional head butts, the same head butts he used against winky wright

Also if you hear in the later rounds in Hopkins corner he is saying something to his trainer about his body hurting, so obviously joes body shots were getting to Hopkins. Or Hopkins poorly trained for the fight against Calzaghe(doubtful unless Hopkins wasn't smart)

Hopkins UD. I agree with the other comments in that kessler is an upgraded version of pavlik. Too simple for hopkins. Calzaghe easily figured out kessler after trying to kinda brawl with him for the first few rounds and kessler never adapted to calzaghe's style. He had no plan b. If Calzaghe could figure out kessler, hopkins would too.

And to the comment that nard has issues with guys with handspeed - correction: it's not just handspeed, hopkins has faced plenty of guys with good handspeed. He's had problem with ELUSIVE fighters. Jones/Taylor and to a lesser extent, calzaghe. Kessler doesn't fit that mold of fighter. He has no head movement, comes forward and that's about it.

Bad style match up for Kessler. He'd do better than Pavlik, especially with his experience post Calzaghe. But he'd get slightly confused again and lose by a few rounds most likely. Close ish though.

One of the few guys out there I'd have significant doubts on Kessler, any other I think he does well.

            I think Kessler would win.

I rather see Dawson vs Hopkins, I don't think Kessler could beat Hopkins.

LOL Kessler out box Hopkins, huh?
Kessler couldnt keep up with Hopkins game. Calzaghe got the W against Hopkins cause he had the activity and the balls to stay in his face all night, based on Kessler's performance against Calzaghe I would say that he doesnt.

Yeah, Hopkins is one part defensive masterful boxer, one part brawler and all son of a *****.

Kessler isn't even close to being as one dimensional as Pavlik.

I think there is a significant unknown quantity to this fight. It all depends on how much Kessler learned from his fight against Calzaghe. Unfortunately we cannot tell for sure at the moment as he is fighting can after can.

If forced to pick a winner it would probably be Hopkins however I would make that choice with no confidence whatsoever.
