Boxing Blurbs, Here and There For 11/5

Rising star and WBA lightweight champion Juan Diaz (26-0-12K) defeated Julien Lorcy (56-4-41K) earlier tonight by way of unanimous decision in San Antonio, Texas. The scores were 118-110, 119-109, and 118-110. Ringside observers tell BoxingScene that Lorcy put up a decent fight, but was outclassed by Diaz down the stretch.

Former heavyweight champion Rid**** Bowe, who has been denied a Boxing in Tennessee, will now have a bout scheduled in Louiville, Kentucky on November 27th, which is just three weeks away. The fight will take place in the in Louisville Gardens. Bowe will be the main event on a seven bout card. No opponent has been announced. Chris Webb, promoter of the Danny Williams-Mike Tyson card, is the promoter of the upcoming Bowe card. Webb is promoting the card with his new company, Straight Up Promotions (was formerly known as Straight Out Promotions). Webb told local media that the event is a fundraiser for Louisville boxer Greg Page.

A press conference was held in Germany to announce a very intriguing bout between two undefeated heavyweights, seven foot and 300 plus pounds of Nicolai Valuev (38-0-29K) will face the very slick Gerald "The Jedi" Nobles (24-0-19K) in a twelve round fight. Valuev is looking at this fight as a stepping tool towards a title fight or a big name opponent, Nobles sees this fight in the same light.

Both fighters have been virtually untested in the ring and this fight will make one guy a contender and the other a pretender. The biggest win on the record of Nobles is against former champion Bruce Seldon and Valuev's biggest win is against former Olympian Paolo Vidoz. Both guys have power, we will see who takes a better punch. The bout will take place in Kempten, Germany on November 20, 2004. [details]

That dude fighting Valuev is the guy with the B-cup man boobs from the Jones/Tarver II undercard! I'm guessing this guy's 'O' is the one to go.
