If this fight end up in a blowout like many of us do, then it's bad for boxing. But if it ends up to be a competitive one or the unthinkable happens then it's great for boxing.

As far as PAC's critics are concerned, i don't think he's making a mistake by signing on to fight De La Joto. If anything, it's a once in a lifetime career move that no one in the history of boxing has ever done before for this amount of $$$$(now if PAC dies in this fight, well, that's a different story).

If PAC wins or loses this fight on 12/6, he can choose to hang it up and take it to the bank with a big fat smile. I don't see any of his critics taking home a potential 10-15 million dollars, so they need to **** up! PAC at the very least will get 10 million. Can you say Finito Lopez was smarter than PAC cause he chose to stay at 105lbs for his entire career, has Finito Lopez even taken a million for a single fight, f**k that, has he even taken home 500k for a single fight? Prior to PAC, Naseem was the highest paid of all the lil guys, and his purse doesn't even compare to what PAC's about to make.

Would you y'all rather have Finito Lopez's cute undefeated record or be able to deposit 10million into your bank account
    ?

That's what I thought, thank you and good night!

There's more meaningful fights for him at LW and DLH needs to fight a real fight or just stick to promotin. This fight is bull****, I've lost a ton of respect for DLH, and I hope Margarito catches him in a dark alley somewhere.
it wont end quick...de la hoya will carry the fight until the 9-10 round and finish him

I think it's a physical mismatch, sure it'll be entertaining while it lasts but it'll be mainly one sided.

                      Mis-match???

                      manny jumping 3 weight classes???

                      oscar taking an "easy" fight???

                      what???

i know everyone is entitled to their opinions but come on...

this fight isnt nearly as much of a mismatch as the critics here at boxingscene, the media, or any armchair "expert" will tell you...prime for prime it would be a huge mismatch and oscar puts him down on his ass at least 2 times then forcing a TKO win late in the fight...but we arent talking about a prime de la hoya...we're talking about an oscar who is slowing down...his speed is showing less and less and he seems to tire out sooner and sooner the longer his career lasts...

manny is still in his prime...fast...strong...etc.

as far as the weight arguements go pacquaio has weighed in at 146/147 unofficially on fight night in his last couple of fights...

so if he comes in at 147 in prior fights i dont see the issue if he's fighting a WELTERWEIGHT BOUT against de la hoya who will ALSO come in at 147...yes im well aware oscar will baloon 10lbs or so by fight night...

look back at floyd v. oscar...floyd was noticably smaller and lighter on fight night being easily outweighed by de la hoya but he didnt run into problems with size...

only legit arguement anyone has about size is height...de la hoya is much taller than pacquaio but its not different than when margarito fights cotto...or when williams fights quintana...and those fighters held their own.

the size arguement is useless to me...it would be different if pacman never came in higher than 135 on fight night and now is trying to jump to 147...but he already comes in at fight night at 147. besides the extra weight could only help him in terms of power...his speed will suffer slightly but remember that de la hoya's speed and punching reflexes arent what they were 5-7 years ago...

only KO or stoppage i can see is late possibly...this isnt going to be over in 4 rounds leaving the fans feeling cheated...there will more than likely be more action in the course of the first round than there was when oscar fought floyd.

and i dont know why people trash talk this match (like they did when floyd fought oscar) because on december 6th you will either be there live, shelling out $50 to watch it live, be at a friends/bar/etc. watching it live, or you will be streaming online...

point is not many will simply refuse to watch it...why? because they are two legit superstars fighting and the potential for a good fight is so great a title on the line doesnt change anything...not for me...for you...or the casual fan.

the casual fans LOVE oscar and pacquaio...floyd/oscar set the PPV record and while oscar v. pac wont come close or beat that record it will still be a mega fight none-the-less and the boxing world will be watching and if it provides competitive action as well as a dramatic/exciting ending you will all praise how you'd love to see it again.

im not going to guarantee its "fight of the year" status but its going to be 3 times the fight floyd v. oscar was and its going to keep you watching intently for all 12 rounds.
