i dont think the klitschkos are ****, but there doesnt seem to be strong contenders right now.
myabe haye, maybe povetkin, maybe dimitrenko, but they still seem too green right now.
hope that the division gets better on the years to come.

Hey Paul, have you heard any news on Gomez? I read reports last weak that Vitali's not interested in defending the title against him. The WBC should strip him if he doesn't...

I agree with most of the people on this thread that the heavyweights suck. Thats why I can't understand the people who don't like david haye. He's the one possibly exciting fighter for the heavyweight division, so if he does turn out to be a bust, then thats a big letdown for the division in general.

I wish people would stop bashing the heavyweight division.

I enjoy it. There are plenty of talented fighters there: the Klitschkos, Povetkin, Chagaev, Gomez, Johnson, Chambers, etc.

Tho things are disappointing about the division:

              1. Inactivity of most of the top 50 - not fighting often enough. About 75% of the top 50 on BoxRec are not currently scheduled for a fight.

              2. Top 50 heavyweights fighting bums or old men instead of each other. There's a lot of ducking going on. Johnson is fighting another clubfighter, because no one wants to fight him. Minto is fighting a bum. Dimitrenko is fighting an old, inactive opponent in Krasniqi. Toney shoots off his mouth alot, but refuses to fight an up-and-comer like Johnson or Walker.

There doesn't seem to be any developments at the moment. I'm just hoping Gomez is getting himself into the condition of his life right now. If he ever does fight Klitschko he'll need to be in very good shape and be prepared to throw a lot of punches.

I could see Gomez giving Vitali all kinds of problems with his solid boxing skills, quickness, and power. I think Vitali's kind of arrogant for dismissing Gomez as a viable opponent...

I don't mind it. It is what it is. There's nothing we can do about it.

its important when it comes to the marketing of boxing, thats why boxing has fell in popularity since the days of tyson and prime holyfield. USe was never really interested in prime lennox or the klitchsko's, heck if haye was american he would probabl be a top 5 heavyweight right now!!
