    Jones Vs Tarver 3

Yes I do think Roy lost , but not in some onesided UD...Tarver won maybe 1-3 more rounds than Roy, Plus after everybody talks about his glass jaw let's remember in like the 11th he got blasted harder and cleaner than Johnson landed and just about as bad hard as what Tarver Ko'd him with and he not only took the punch he started going back at Tarver that was the most exciting round of all three of those fights. That was the last time Roy was hit hard in a fight and in all these Jones or B-Hop threads people act like Roy gets hit alot and is awlays in risk of being KO'd in every fight in the last ten years or something. I just wanted to see what people thought about Jones Vs Tarver 3 cause I remeber a good fight that Tarver edged out with pressure and taking chances and Roy won a mental victory fighting well and proving he can take a a punch...he simply refused to be KO'd like he had been before and for me this was a Jones fight that made me respect him as boxer with as much heart as skill...YES HE Lost i'm not saying he didn't but it was close and Roy proved he can take a punch and keep fighting back and that was a step up from laying on the mat last time he got hit hard so he made improvements IMO.

IN the fifth round of this fight was the first time Jones hurt Tarver in their three fights, it was with a body shot.

I hate that fight. It kills me to watch it. Roy didn't try to win that night and that hurts.

I didnt seen the fight but everything the media said sounded just like what danc1984 said. You say that it was a close fight but all I heard was how RJ should be ashame of himself because he didnt even try to win. They said that his whole goal was just not to be KO and there were a ton of people who said that. He just wanted to go the distance and was content with that. They said that he didnt take not 1 risk the whole fight because he was scared of being KO so he was just defensive the whole time and never took any chances or attempted to win at all

It's a pretty depressing watch, yeah.

But I don't necessarily blame RJJ. I mean, it's easy for us to sit here and say he shoulda let his hands go and gone for it, but he'd been knocked out twice, man. And he was probably right to be cautious, considering how he took that right from Tarver in the 11th.

Don't get it twisted he wasnt running around like some *****, he won some rounds i thought he won like 5, but he wasn't jumping in there trying to KO Tarver he was boxing him, and like dude said above Jones was fighting he was going at his body and Tarver was real tired at the end from punching so much and getting hit with body shots...Jones did go the distance but he did not try to really go hard and jump in there without reguard he knew he could be ko'd and almost was he got smashed and didnt go down, had he fought the 12th like he did aginst Montell Griffin he may have got lucky cause even Emanuel thought Tarver was exhausted he even accused Tarver of trying to fall out of the ring at one point. Jones was not doing so horrible that he should have been embarssed...He fought a good fight and he lost but he didn't look nearly as bad as people act like...people act like he looked like Cotto or Pavlik in this fight and that is simply not the case at all he got smashed and then tried to score a KO himself and won some rounds he wasnt being humiliated like people make it out to be is my point I guess...Lmao

Yeah see to all those acting like Jones was a total ***** or something you can see he was fighting, but he was also smart and that cost him the fight probably....

Close fight through 6 rounds. Jones lost nearly every round after that and the 11th could be 10-8 because of that brutal shot.

I think Jones did well after the shot...I wish he would have got caught earlier cause he woulda lost the fear and went harder.

Roy had no problem hitting tarver, he connected every time he threw a punch but he was too scared to do what i wanted him to do - try and knock tarver out, because if he couldn't, he'd get knocked out again. i think if he'd went to war with tarver, his faster punches would have rocked antonio and maybe stopped him
