There's a brand new Middleweight champion, he's from Youngstown Ohio!

Pavlik vs Taylor 1. Classic ****.

Just watched this again to post Hops-schooling to make sure Pavlik ain't a dud. He isn't. Not at 160, anyway.

I know Taylor gets alot of credit for how he fought Pav in the second fight, but I liked him in this fight too, offensively he was sharp.

First 3 rounds was almost a war, each throwing massive thudding bombs on the other. Next 3 were more of a boxing match, and Pavlik was slowly breaking Taylor down.

You got the drama of the second round KD, and Pavlik staggering all over the place. Then you've got a Pavlik coming back to KO Taylor in round 7.

I like watching the KO, hearing Lampley and Merchant going nuts, but even more so, watching the reactions of the fans and the Pavlik camp as he's nailing Taylor. Must have been ****ing wild at the time.

    Show this fight some love.

Pavlik is still an elite fighter. He is getting hammered far too much for his lose. He lost to an ATG with a ridiculous amount of ring intelligence. It's not the first time it has happened to a great young guy. Pavlik will still dominate everyone at 160 IMO.

I think Pavlik takes Abraham. He's got awesome power but Pavlik's got a good chin. Abraham, IMHO, doesn't have the elusivity and speed to trouble Pavlik.

Potential classic, though. I have no problems with people picking AA to win.
