Calzaghe beat win is Hopkins over Pavlik
calzaghe holds the w over hopkins in a fight he had to move up in weight to fight him.

trinidad lost to oscar in many peoples eyes who is also a welterweight, who cares if a bigger hopkins knocked him out?

    prime calzaghe = 168
    prime hopkins = 160

if they fought it'd be at 168 giving calzaghe the advantage.

    calzaghe wins close UD.

How?? Hopkins has proven that he is capable at higher weight, Calzaghe has a lucky SD over Hopkins.

What Tito done at WW doesn't matter.

Leonard lost Duran at WW but beat Marvin Hagler at MW.

I think Hopkins would win a decision.

What troubled him in the Calzaghe fight was his lack of stamina throughout 12 rounds, Hopkins in his prime had much better stamina and would be able to maintain countering off the ropes through 12. Hopkins in his prime was more aggressive also. In the fight, when he came forward and was more aggressive he was effective.

lucky sd? one judge only managed to give hopkins 3 rounds.

tito was never great at the higher weights and his resume proves that. he lost to winky just as badly after hopkins.

Hopkins was given a free break from the ref for faking a low blow, he was a good 6 lbs heavier than calzaghe too, a younger calzaghe also has more stamina. calzaghe would always have the edge in stamina over hopkins.

A so called prime Hopkins of say 10 years ago - does not have as supremely good defence, countering, tactics and slickness. These were his biggest weapons against Calzaghes style. That made it close as Calzaghe couldn't deal with that style so well, it's his style nightmare chasing the fight down.

A more open, aggressive, come forwards Hopkins suites Calzaghe.

A close fight with the styles less heavily against Calzaghe, his chin too solid for Hopkins to KO, and Calzaghe getting the better out of a more open, aggressive genuine fight, with quick hands and angles landing even more. Calzaghe UD, by a few rounds only though.

A prime Hopkins had very good defense, was slick and still came into fights with good gameplans on how to win. Hopkins could fight on the backfoot, coming forward and He also threw combinations. Only thing a Hopkins know has better is experience.

In their fight Hopkins landed counters at will, Calzaghe hasn't got good defense. It was once he started to tire that he stopped throwing. Hopkins had better stamina in his prime and would be able to maintain countering through 12 rounds.
