How? Aesthetically I'll give you that, he can't compare.

But to be 43 years old, in that type of shape, performing at the activity level he just performed at? Throwing combinations as often as he did? Any normal 43 year old man wouldn't have last 2 rounds.

Margarito gets a huge nod from me as well. That guy just throws, and throws, and throws, and throws, and throws and throws until your will has wilted away, then he follows that up by throwing more, and more, and more, and more.

That level of stamina is ungodly.

im assuming the threadstarter meant the guy who can work hardest in a fight for the longest, but thats not neccessily the fittest guy. Mayweather for example, agreed he is never tired, but he doesnt throw nearly as many punches per round as say calzaghe or Pavlik. Hopkins never seems tired, but its mostly because he's clever enough to only work when he needs to, unlike some other fighters who have to bust a gut to win a round because they dont have the same boxing brain as him (im thinking someone like hatton).

He is extremely fit considering his age. If you want to adjust the ratings for age then fine, I have no problem with putting Bernard at number one.

But that is not the question being asked. It is who are the fittest fighters in the sport. Bernard's stamina, whilst being great for a guy in him mid-40s, isn't close to as good as a handful of other fighters.

Mayweather and Hopkins are/were the most fanatically trained, maintaining a stable fighting weight year-round.

What kind of a clown puts Hopkins above Calzaghe?
