I hate most boxing writers. Such phony pompous windbags. I wonder how many of the ones that don't vote for Hamed will vote for Arturo Gatti? What a travesty.

you have to be kidding me

i know gatti is far more likeable than hamed and had many great fights but come on, he was pretty average skill wise and didnt achieve a hell of a lot...(when you compare his achievments to other guys on the elite level im saying, he did achieve a lot by most standards)

hamed was tremendously skilled and talented, and he achieved heaps. he should be a shoo in HoFer

Hamed deserves to be in at some point.

I think the Barrera fight has taken away from him accolades. He was a dominant fighter for a long time fighting decent competition. it wasnt like he was in UK holding the title hostage and fighting just bums. He held one of every four major belts, and was champ for a long time.

Make a list of all the title holders each of them beat and lost to. Hamed's only loss was a decision to a future hall of famer. The only HOF fighters Gatti lost to were Mayweather and De La Hoya. The other seven losses, not so much. The boxing HOF is a joke.

The boxing HOF seems to put guys in based on contributions to the sport, not really on greatness of accomplishments. There are a lot of guys with better careers than Gatti, but his wars will get him into the hall.

I dont think he deserves to be in the Hof, even before the barrea fight, he was getting knocked down alot by lesser fighters, then he pretty much gave up on the sport after one bad loss, and a disappointing return fight, the hall of very good but not my HOF, I know theres a lot of fighters in the hof that don't deserve it or that should be taken out.
