You want the real reason or the one Williams' camp gives?

The real reason is that Williams decided to fight Phillips at 154lbs. Because he's not done toying around with other divisions.

The reason his camp gives is that Clottey backed out. Like nearly everybody Paul is not fighting these days.

Seems like the Williams camp is cherry picking until they get that big name fight. Clottey has a great chance of beating Williams, hopefully the fight will happen at some point early next year.

Oh yeah, Williams is only interested in taking straps right now, he said in the most recent BS interview that he'll go all the way to 168lbs. So Welterweight, Super Welterweight/Junior Middleweight, Middleweight, and Super Middleweight are the divisions he's looking to "conquer".

He's as much a ***** for not making the Margarito rematch as Margarito is himself in my eyes, it's a 50/50 relationship. You gotta bring ass to get ass, and Paul's bringing no ass. He's too busy clowning on these guys at 154 and 160.

If he keeps on buying into his own hype I can see it happening again at the hands of Clottey.

Even if he turned it on late (as Margarito ALWAYS does) he would've lost the decision, Clottey won the first 4 easily, all he needed was 2 more rounds for a draw, and 3 to win.

I like watching Paul fight, but I'm already tired of seeing him whip chumps at 160lbs and 154lbs. He acted like Kolle was Abraham or some ****, saying Kolle was "a damn good fighter".

I'm not saying it's not Margarito's fault either, but they're both to blame. If I were Paul and Margarito declined to fight me for $4 million, I'd take shots at his ass everytime I got a media camera on me. Dog his ass until he had to fight you, Williams has expressed no intrest in it.

The top 4 guys at WW are Margarito, Cotto, Williams, and Clottey. (Not in any particular order.)

The facts are before Paul fought Andy Kolle he was a lifetime MW who had only lost once in 18 fights to an olympic gold medalist. Paul KOd the guy in the 1st rd just like he did Quintana previously. You are fantasizing about Clottey having a pefect hand. He has losses to Baldomir & Margarito. Get over it.
