HAS GETTING THE K.0. BECOME EASIER THAN THE YEARS BEFORE? (i SAY YES)

Seems Like Everyone Starts With A Blazing K.o. Record Now And Days And Guys Are Getting Knocked Out Easier And Easier...

Guys Used To Go 15+ Rounds Before... Now 12 And Guys Are Getting Knocked Out Even Before Then. Not Saying Thats Something Easy To Do.. Going 12 Rounds Is Very Hard And You Must Train To Fight All 12.

But A Young Joe Frazier Fighting 12 Rounds Today?

    A Young Pep?

You Have To Believe That They Would Have Amazing K.o. Percentages Against The Fighters We Have Now...

I Believe Its Become Easier To Get The K.o. And That The Past Times Would Easily Dismantle A Few Of Our Era's Top Fighters Today.... Anyone Think Not?

    Good THREAD.

BTW, I think it works in reverse too - Pernell Whitaker would have MUCH more KO's if there were 15 rounders in his time.

Everytime Pernell had someone hurt he'd never jump on them. The Pernell vs Roger fight seemed to have been personal...Whitaker had bad intentions in that fight. I don't know...to me it seemed as if he just wanted to get the U.D

I dont think so. Fighters nowaday's fight toooo cautiously. Most are more concerned with NOT getting hit, rather than inflicting damage to thier opponents. Thank god for the few fighters left with killer instincts.

so you think the KO is harder now? I should have been more specific... Such as the BREED of Boxer we have today.

Do you understand what I mean... Like Ali took some thuds from frazier and foreman... would our heavyweights today would have last all the rounds or even been able to take one?

Some shots that Duran has landed in his fights i feel would have been 1 hitter quitters.. but the fighters of that time stood up to them .. even if to be knocked out later...

Understand what I mean by the different breeds of boxer?

I agree. A lot of fighters like that. When he needed the KO against Hurtado he knocked him out of the ring...WTF?

Yeah, I used to sleep on the old school but then you watch their fights and are like..WOW.

And then you see Evander Holyfield or even Larry Holmes and you're like, man if these guys were in their primes they'd kick everyone's ass.

There are too many sanctions and rules floating around nowadays which in my opinion actually limit KO's. However the sweet science remains the same, you hit a man hard enough he will taste the canvas.
