I thought Tyson was calling Lewis out early 00's not sure of the yea, but then Lewis chose to fight tua instead.

It went something like this my firends Tyson came out of jail had a few warm up fights and was gettign ready for the big show down with Holy. Holy in the mean time was busy fighting Bowe and others. Lewis managed to get himself the #1 ranking for Holy's belts. Tyson paid Lewis to step aside rather then fight Lewis because there was more money to made for Tyson and Don King and Holyfield if they had the fight everyone wanted to see 6 years in the amking.

Lewis in my book was scared of Tyson then and in 2002 until he realized he could land that uppecut and use his jab to set up his right hand so easily. But by that time Tyson was merely a shell of the fighter Cus and Rooney made him to be in his hay day. Relying on one punch not going to the body no longer throwing the hook to the body upper cut up the middle over hand right deadly combo.

I knew the bold part, just wasn't aware Don King paid Lewis to step aside.. I was 12 years old back then.. now I know.. thanks of the info.

Of course, like every boxing fan in the late 80's and early 90's, Mike Tyson was on their favorite boxers' list. Then like every other boxing fan, Mike started to decline from the list.

These days, i'm back on Tyson as one of my favorite fighters. He was the K.O. kid of the 90's. I don't care about his antics, his police record, whatever whatever.

The point is, that Iron Mike knocks fools out. He was knockin grown ass men into next week when he was only 19 or 20.

Tyson vs. Lewis is still one of my favorite fights. Maybe because of everything that was enthralled within that bout.

Yes, it was one sided. Yes, Lewis beat the brakes off Tyson. Yes, Tyson didn't fight in that bout. But i still enjoy watching that match.

Tyson's dope. Jack Dempsey's dope.

I noticed that too about tyson and his walk to the ring for the Lewis fight. I remember telling my brother in law"dude looks scared and worried. Its like he already knows he is gonna lose"
You could see it in his eyes but at the same time Lewis was scared too.
Lewis was in the prime of his career at the right time. He fought a beat up washed up tyson and got mad credit for it. You have to give anyone credit for knocking out a living legend like mike.
Late 90's Iron Mike cant be touched, not by Ali, Liston, Dempsey, Marciano no one IMO.
