Shannon Briggs: The disgraced champion

I guess you can say his story was from rags to riches. Shannon Briggs, who was once a homeless man living on the streets found a name for himself in boxing by beating former Olympic gold medalist, Ray Mercer and provided some excitement from the Lewis fight. However, he was awarded a victory against George Foreman, what a disgrace that was too, I thought he lost that fight. He lost to Sultan Ibragimov by UD and drew with Botha. Throughout his career he would complain about every little thing, if he really was in distress one word would cure that "retire". If he lost he'd blame it on his injuries all the time. So, I'll leave you this in closing my friends, I guess garbage has a way in returning back to the dumpsters.

He won a WBO title almost a decade later.

Briggs-Liakhovich was a beautiful display of stamina and athleticism.

Shannon Briggs lost to Sedrick Fields (22-37).

What does that tell us about him?

Not a fan of his fighting but he's a good commentator and he's a pretty funny/likable guy.

Yea that fight kinda just fell in his lap, he fought a bunch of barnyard fights inbetween all those years.. He found a guy who was just afraid to throw anything.
