Anyone give Verno a chance vs Williams?

Phillips is a tough guy and an honest fighter. But he is up there in years and usually fails at the highest level. I expect him to go the distance with PW but lose almost every round.

Personally I thought he lost to Spinks but was the aggressor and somehow got it on the cards.

As you said he is an honest and tough fighter, the kind you want to see do well but none of that will matter against PWill.

I can't see Verno winning but he is a tough hard nosed guy who should challenge Williams to some degree. His corner may stop it later in the fight but it could easily go all 12.

it makes sense for Verno to take this fight though it seems like he will be easily beaten.

likely he would lose to Spinks in the rematch in a stinker and be out of boxing forever.

this way maybe he can put up a tough fight, get paid more than he would for Spinks, and maybe get himself one or two more decent fights before he hangs them up.

pw is on a streak and looking pretty good and verno's is old so i dont see much of a chance there.
