    Roy Jones Jr Career

RJJ is an obvious lock for Canastota. But my question to everyone is where does he rank all time as far as achievments and what hes meant to the sport?

Roy is the most talented fighter I have ever seen. In his prime at 168 he was the closest thing to unbeatable I have ever seen in the ring.

As far as where he stands all time wise its obviously massively open to interpretation. Personally I have him as a top 20ish p4p ATG but some have him a little higher and others a lot lower.

I agree 100%, a prime RJJ was scary good. Hes the best SMW ever by far. That beaing said, when a man is THAT much better than everyone else he will always get rated lower than he should because he made good fighters look incompetent. It really wouldnt matter who all he fought it would be the one he didnt that people would criticize him for. He made quality guys look like straight bums so it gives the impression he didnt fight anyone. I also give him a top 20ish pvp listing, because he didnt ever have a tough fight in his prime and a top p4p has to be able to dig deep and win when he cant, Roy was too physically talented to ever have to.

Jones was probably the most physically gifted fighter the sport has ever had, right now I'd say he's top 40 but if he beats Calzaghe, I wouldn't hesitate to say he's top 20.

If he can beat Calzaghe, Hopkins, then Dawson and retire I'll call him the greatest ever.

Roy captured silver in 88 Olympics in a fight that all observers agree he was robbed of gold. He went on to basically win his 1st 50 professional fights without losing winning world titles in multiple divisions. Along the way he has beat 3 for sure hall of famers. Hopkins, Toney, & Trinidad.

If Roy beats Calzaghe in November he will be remembered as the greatest fighter of this era.

McCallum can be added to that list. It might have been a shell but he still beat him.

roy's KO of montell griffin should count too, griffin was very slick boxer with a lot of good names on his record. roy was beating him the first time before he got over aggressive but in the rematch he made griffin look like a bum
