I don't think anyone's put up this article, though some of you MAY have been talking about it. I'll try to translate articles from time to time and give you guys something worth reading. BTW, this article is from October 20th (today). I read it this morning and double-cringed (one for the delusional part, and another for being puertorrican as I read this).
This is from "El Nuevo Día", a newspaper from Puerto Rico.
The Trinidads insist on Hopkins
His great triumph over Pavlik does not discourage Trinidad
It is true that Hopkins just accomplished a great feat in his already legendary career by dominating the undefeated Pavlik throughout the 12 rounds which they fought, but it is not something that affects the Trinidad clan on the island of Puerto Rico.
It does not discourage the hope that Felix ‘Tito’ Trinidad may have in order to have a rematch against Hopkins, who’s waited for seven years trying to get into the ring with him yet again.
“At this point I don’t believe that Hopkins is a coward. I just think that he’s either obeying someone who doesn’t want him to get in the ring with Trinidad, or it’s true that he’s afraid of Trinidad, even though he’s not a coward.” Said father, manager and trainer of legendary fighter Felix Trindad.
Hopkins, who is 43 years of age, defeated Trinidad in a stunning 12th round knockout on September 29th, 2001 in Madison Square Garden.
“Within the industry it seems there’s a force which doesn’t want this rematch to happen…they won’t let Tito vindicate himself for his first loss.” Trinidad Senior added.
Trinidad, who is currently 35 years old, has only fought once in 2008, which ended in a unanimous decision in January against Roy Jones, Jr also at Madison Square Garden, contrary to Hopkins who has maintained himself active from 2001 to this day.
“The type of fighter that Tito is can’t be doubted for a second. You just have to look at the fight he gave Roy Jones, Jr…and the type of boxer Tito is, he deserves this rematch, but Hopkins (and his camp) know that Tito is now a whole different story.” Said Trinidad senior, who confessed to picking Hopkins over Pavlik, stating that he knew that Hopkins was the smarter fighter.
Trinidad Senior also added that “The Executioner” from Philadelphia didn’t show anything drastically new nor supernatural techniques as he dominated his opponent 17 years his junior, who was feared as a power-punching phenom as the middleweight champion, even though the fight was at 170 pounds.
“Hopkins went and made his fight and was able to pull out the victory because his opponent didn’t put up much of a fight…I didn’t see the old Pavlik as I’ve seen in other fights.”

Can you believe this? WHO would honestly pick Trinidad to beat Hopkins (especially after a performance like that)? Tito is very inactive, older than Pavlik, and doesn't carry his power at all at that weight. The fight against Jones, Jr? Some say Jones carried him, others say he didn't, for what it's worth, Trinidad got schooled regardless. Hopkins would EASILY beat Trinidad, I just think Trinidad senior is just looking for another payday. No one in their right mind would pick Trinidad over Hopkins...
