punches_n_bunches: Whats up champ, Im not familiar with who your promoter is I understand they make you the money . Are they or money going to prevent you from fighting the big fights soon with Calzage, Danny green or possibly even Trinidad?

JEFF_LACY: Oh no. Gary Shaw is my promoter. I'm not signed to any long term deal but I'm with Gary Shaw on a fight by fight basis.

JEFF_LACY: All we're looking for is big fights.

CLINTON_INDIANA: hi Champ big fan..congratulations on your world title..first off are you working on letting your hands go more? seems like you load up a lil ..second have you and Taylor spared and who won?

JEFF_LACY: I'm going to be better every time out. In my next fight with Sheika you're going to see me let my hands go and you're going to be on the edge of your seat. Yes, Jermain and I have sparred millions of times in training camp for the Olympic.

JEFF_LACY: It was sparring there's no winner of loser.

JEFF_LACY: I watched him but he wasn't the one of my inspirations to boxing, Evander Holyfield was. The nickname just stuck with me from the gym. I loved throwing the hook in the gym and it stuck with me,

Bryan_AKA_Superman: Hello Jeff. Congratulations on your win over Syd Vanderpool, which has earned you your first world title! How does that feel and tell how life has been since that awesome moment. Do you consider Sheika a worthy opponent after his number of recent setbacks

JEFF_LACY: It's a great feeling to capture a world title. It's what we're out for as professional fighters. It's a great feeling to be called champ. I was always called champ, but now it's definite.

JEFF_LACY: He's a puncher and he's dangerous to me. I'm not taking him lightly and this fight will be a fight that fans and spectators will all love. It's going to be a great entertaining fight.

JEFF_LACY: Yes. But all my fights are on a fight by fight basis. I'm not signed to Showtime. It's more of a handshake deal, but I basically consider myseldf a Showtime fighter.

jabmalassie: what would be your strategy for defeating J Taylor and Hopkins. and are you ********** or ********???

JEFF_LACY: Jermain Taylor or Bernard Hopkins? For Hopkins it's going to take someone young, strong who won't back down and put the pressure on him to make him work. A lot of guys are scared of him and don't want to do nothing in the ring.

JEFF_LACY: I would catch him while he was trying to be rough on the inside.

JEFF_LACY: And Jermain, I would have to use the right hand like my jab to smother his whipping jab. it would be a late round fight and I would have to break him down because he's going to do a lot of moving.

JEFF_LACY: And you know that left hook would be big when he loads up with that right!

byrdman: jeff your fight with vanderpool was awesome, have you watched the tape yet? it was very entertaining from a fan perspective, i thought you showed alot of character when you came back after getting countered a bit in the early rounds

JEFF_LACY: Yes I have watched the tape. I'm a warrior and I wasn't coming to lay down I came for a very game Syd Vanderpool. I worked hard for that fight and it came down to who wanted it more. That's when the best comes out of me.

JEFF_LACY: I would love to see it jump off within the next year or six months. There's no rush but I want the fight. I feel I can get in the ring with him right now and it's a big fight so the money would have to be right, especially for me to go there. But we can

JEFF_LACY: Right now I would have to say I like watching Bernard Hopkins, I liked watching Roy Jones.

JEFF_LACY: William Joppy did nothing but lie and he's trying to sell the fight with Jermain Taylor. But he's doesn't want anything to do with me. He's washed up!

JEFF_LACY: It gets interesting because you have a great technical boxer and a great puncher, so you guys could imagine what it's like.

Ray_O_s_In_Da_Building: Jeff, how far are we away from you moving up to fight a guy like Tarver, and how do you see that fight playing out? And have you ever dropped Taylor in sparring?

JEFF_LACY: How far from something like that? Maybe a year and half, two years. It could be sooner though. No, and he never knocked me down either.

dee: Cong**** on your win i hope you keep it real and are you going try try to be a good role model for kids? for the sport of boxing? We really need that for and from boxing athletes. Plus it would make and keep you marketable.

JEFF_LACY: I still have role models. I look up to people who look out for kids and make sure our youth are doing well. Now it makes me happy to know kids are looking up to me because it's all about bettering yourself.

JEFF_LACY: Everybody I fight!

Unknown: A lot of people think that Jerson Ravelo beat you all three times in amateurs. Do you think both of you will be able to sqaure off in the ring when future becomes present? How do you see that fight turning out?

JEFF_LACY: That's not even a fight people want to see right now because he got knocked out. If Jerson Ravelo is a money fight and he can go out there and sell everything that supposedly happend, I'm with it!

Hellephant: Jeff, who will win, Joppy or Taylor?

JEFF_LACY: Taylor's going to beat the hell out of Joppy,.

JEFF_LACY: Until I knock all of the champions out. Then I'm going to move down to challenge Hopkins or whoever else the champion is.

JEFF_LACY: Probably three more fights at 168, all against champions.

JEFF_LACY: I don't need to fight for the belts at 160, we could do it at a catch weight, but I could make it if the money's right.

JEFF_LACY: That's not one of the things I'm going in there thinking about. I'm thinking about my game plan and if I follow the game plan nothing he wants to do wll happen. It's all about what I allow him to do.

OnFire: I met you a while back at the Jacob Javits Center on an HBO card you attended. Congrates on your title winning fight. Do you wear the belt around the house and has it sunk it yet that you are The World Champion?

JEFF_LACY: It hasn't sunken in yet. I see it as a good win for me. The belt IS nice to see when you look over at it. I'm not wearing it around the house now, but I was the night after the fight.
