November 8, NYC Madison Square Garden, who's going to the fight live?
Roy Jones vs Trinidad at MSG was my first live fight, and after my second one at Hopkins Pavlik, I must go to this one for many reasons and you should to
First the stakes: After last Saturday, a Calzaghe win on November 8 pretty much certifies him as a great although there will always be hate, a Jones win sets up a superfight between him and Hopkins
Second, Europe vs America is ALWAYS fun, this is no mismatch and both places have a competent boxer to root for
Third, the crowd atmosphere is gonna be great. Although they get a bad rep, i've been to 3 events two boxing one UFC and all three had a black man in the main event with 2 against a white guy (liddell, pavlik) and the other against Trinidad and I just want to say that Black fans are good fans in live events, their trash talk is entertaining and in good fun and when their man wins they celebrate but are not total d!cks about it. Also I think European fans are great as well, they bring lots of energy to the fight and they are HILARIOUS!!
Lastly, the fighters themselves, as much as I want Calzaghe to lose, i'm no hater, even tho his slapping looks very gay, Joe is a top notch boxer who has earned his stripes and who goes for the KO. Roy is an all time legend who doesnt go for the ko but can get one if he feels like it. His taunts are hilarious and his skills (shot or not) are amazing
Not all is good however:
The price: 150 bucks for cheap seats SHEESH, i'm a fan but man were in a economic crisis and these prices aint helping. Also MSG is extra expensive for food and drinks and since ima go completely stone, you can bet ima spend plenty at the concession. Also you Euros love to drink so expect to go broke at the bar.
The undercard:
not to make a boxing vs mma thing but the UFC packs its undercards while boxing really doesnt. Names like Dmitri Salita and Willie Limond dont warrent such high prices and while Judah is on the card, I think boxing undercards need to get better, last Saturday's undercard was pretty underwhelming
All in all I hope to see you guys there, I wanted to meet Boxingscene people at last weeks fight but I was pretty ****ed up and really into the fights, drop a comment if ur going or gonna order it
