Now that hopkins won so impressively? I mean if you think about it, Roach was his trainer in arguably his worst performances - calzaghe and wright. Then he refused to train hopkins for pavlik, said he didn't want to see hopkins get hurt and that pavlik was a different type of beast. Doesn't seem to confident in his fighters!

    thoughts?

Personally I can understand his concern for hopkins, you know because of his own conditions, but I always thought it was messed up that he was so public about that ****. If he didn't want to be involved in this fight there was no need to talk to the press about all that nonsense.

Freddie had no confidence in Hopkins and has TOO MUCH confidence in PAC...

but i have to admit, i could have never imagined Hopkins putting on a performance like that...his punch output was steady, his energy constant and his craftiness overwhelming

Well after the calzaghe fight i too was concerned about hopkins, he got tired, he looked fatigues, went to the wrong corner a few time and in the corner it seemed as if he wasn't listening.

Nat, it's a good question. I've wondered about Roach for a while. I don't think he's all that. Bernard also had Mackie Shilstone working for him before the Calz fight too. If I was Bernard, I'd ask for my money back, cause Hops gassed out bad after being told he had the body of a 28 year old.

No I think like Hopkins said it was his own mindset he was trying to fight conservatively because of his age but against Pavlik he changed his mindset.

I always thought he was over-rated, ALWAYS.

                Now
                ****m Richardson - underrated
                Floyd Sr. - Underrated
                Roger Mayweather - OVERrated

                IMO
Floyd Sr. and ****m are the best right now

Roach comes off as a person who talks behinds peoples back. The comments he made about Hopkins should not have been made publicly. If he was really concerned about Hopkins health he should of discussed it with Hopkins personally, not with the general public.
He did the same thing with Israel Vasquez.
He also talks stuff about De La Hoya, after De la Hoya gave him a career high pay. He may be a talented trainer, but his people skills don’t seem all that good.
