Nov 1-Nov 8 Takes it Out Easy

          Nov 1

At Carson, Calif. (Showtime): Cristian Mijares vs. Vic Darchinyan, 12 rounds, WBC/WBA/IBF junior bantamweight unification; Andre Dirrell vs. Victor Oganov, 12 rounds, super middleweights

At Las Vegas (Top Rank PPV): Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Matt Vanda, rematch, 10 rounds, junior middleweights; Nonito Donaire vs. Moruti Mthalane, 12 rounds, for Donaire's IBF flyweight title; Jorge Arce vs. Isidro "Chino" Garcia, 12 rounds, for Arce's WBA interim junior bantamweight title; Lamont Peterson vs. Lanardo Tyner, 10 rounds, junior welterweights; junior middleweights; Matvey Korobov vs. TBA, 4 rounds, middleweights; Vanes Martirosyan vs. Charles Howe, 10 rounds

At Oberhausen, Germany: Felix Sturm vs. Sebastian Sylvester, 12 rounds, for Sturm's WBA middleweight title; Sergei Dzindziruk vs. Joel "Love Child" Julio, 12 rounds, for Dzindziruk's WBO junior middleweight title

At Chihuahua, Mexico: Daniel Ponce De Leon vs. Damian David Marchiano, 10 rounds

          November 2nd

At Guadalajara, Mexico: Ulises Solis vs. Nerys Espinoza, 12 rounds, for Solis' IBF junior flyweight title

          November 8th

At New York (HBO PPV): Joe Calzaghe vs. Roy Jones Jr., 12 rounds, for Calzaghe's Ring magazine light heavyweight title; Zab Judah vs. TBA, 10 rounds, welterweights; Dmitriy Salita vs. TBA, 10 rounds, junior welterweights

At Bucharest: Adrian Diaconu vs. Silvio Branco, 12 rounds, for Diaconu's WBC light heavyweight title

At Bamberg, Germany (Integrated Sports PPV): Arthur Abraham vs. Raul Marquez, 12 rounds, for Abraham's IBF middleweight title; Otis Griffin vs. Enan Licina, 10 rounds, cruiserweights

If I count correctly that is 9 title fights in the week. The 1st far takes out the 15th. Though we may not see it, im crossing my fingers it will be on PPV, The Julio fight could be the best fight of the month. Dzindziruk and Julio are legit fighters in the prime of their career.

ggurtin, there are indeed some good fights on the 1st but I'm not sure it outweighs the 11th -15th, where you've got Glen Jones, Miranda, Taylor, Lacy, Cintron, Haye, Shaun George, Bika, Manfredo, and Codrington.

Either way, maybe we can agree that the 11/1-11/15 will be the best 15 days of boxing in 2008!

Plus I think you are overrating Julio a bit; Ishe Smith showed that he could be easily beaten by a good boxer with a half decent workrate (Smith is the 1st, but not the latter).

That said it will probably be a good fight. Julio is a legit puncher, I'll give you that.

oh ****! the Swamp Donkey is fighting! Ive seen him before. awesome nickname.

yea, thats a great week for boxing. I just hope that I can watch fights like Dimitrenko-Krasniqi and Diaconu-Branco. why in the hell would they put three of those boxing events on one day and on seperate cards. ug, it would be so much nicer if they actually just tried to put them all together, but I guess thats impossible. meh.

its about time that Brewer and Codrington started fighting again. that Versus card looks fun. and the free HBO card looks pretty stacked too, but chances are they wont show all the fights and spend 30+ minutes on ring entrances, introductions and national anthems instead. thanks a lot.
