Several of Joe's opponents (Hopkins, Kessler, Lacy, Mitchell, Reid, Eubank, Brewer) were as good or better at their weight class, as McCall and Rahman were at heavyweight!

Yet Joe has never been KOed.

      Calzaghe > Lewis.

yeah a few were as good as mccall and rahman.

but beating a tyson or holyfield in their 30's is better than hopkins in his 40's. no matter how good hop is in his old age.

besides......an out of shape , past prime lennox lewis tko'd a prime vitali klitschko. don't you always tell me how good vitali is?

I disagree. I would say Calzaghes win over Hopkins is more significant than Lewis' over Tyson and possibly Holyfield too. Although Lennox has the better overall resume

tyson and evander was still championship level fighters when lennox fought them.

plus that makes 3 (if you count the draw) wins over future HOFers to joe's 1 win at the moment.

tyson and holyfield are far bigger names (as far as popularity and name recognition) than hopkins. that counts for something.

plus lennox beat evander and mike decisively (yes even the draw was a decisive win) whereas joe beat hopkins clearly but it wasn't nearly as decisive. one could argue that lennox's draw with holyfield was more of a clear cut win than joe's win over bernard.

Definitely. The "draw" was more decisive than the win in the rematch.
