ya man....what does Witter bring to the table?? Why do all these b level fighters keep calling out the A level fighters then complain later that they are ducking them? WTF Why should Mayweather even consider this fight.....would anybody think anymore (or less) of FM if he took this fight.

British, Commonwealth and European 140lb champ Junior Witter (29-1-2) issued today a challenge to former two-division champ and current jr. welter contender Floyd Mayweather. Witter, who is scheduled to defend his Euro belt against Krzysztof Bienias (22-2) of Poland on November 12 in London, was quoted saying: “You have an HBO date in January [referring to Mayweather] but no opponent yet, so here I am. Come get me". Mayweather is currently WBC #1 at jr. welter, with Junior Witter being ranked #3. “There is no fear of WBC # 2 stepping up - stated Witter - Branco is scared of his own shadow, he has already turned down a fight against me". Witter looked awful in an IBF title challenge versus Zab Judah four years ago but, to his credit, he took the fight on a seven-day notice and wasn't exactly a veteran back then. After the Judah clash, the British champion knocked out fourteen straight opponents, winning the Commonwealth and European titles in the process. Witter claimed his eventual fight versus Mayweather would end up the same way, with a KO win: “I would do exactly the same against Mayweather. It would be a real war, but I would undoubtedly be the last man standing". The switch-hitter from Bradford, England, ended his interview delivering a blow to fellow Brit Ricky Hatton: “Don’t confuse me with Ricky Hatton, another so called British light welterweight talent. He has avoided me for two years because he knows I would knock him out". (special thanks to Jason Frost)

Witter is a flat out joke and needs to beat someone with a pulse before anyone in America will take him serious.

Can`t go by one bad performance though. Witter has improved allot and to his credit he has been calling out hatton for 3 years and offering to take a small purse in the process. i think Witter feels he can present Mayweather with problems and regardless of one bad night with Judah, who is a world class fighter, he still out ranks the likes of Emmanuel Burton who Mayweather fought a few years back. i say what the hell, give the guy a chance at least to redeem himself!

WITTER ALSO TOOK THE JUDAH FIGHT AT 9 DAYS NOTICE.

but he did himself no favours, strange really as he gave Zab all the problems he coudl ask for, for the first two rounds.

Silly him calling Mayweather out though. Never gonna happen.

Witter should focus on fighting better level opponents in the top 20 to move himself up rather than opening his mouth and calling out the likes of the established fighters such as Mayweather, hatton etc.

Why doesnt he fight say Lovemore ndou, Corley or tackie, this would give him the credentials to call out the bigger names, at the moment he is just a loudmouth with a lot to prove.
