Probably not, Dawson doesn't bring that much money to the table yet but if Hopkins wants to add another layer to his legacy, fighting Dawson would be the way to do it.

Hopkins would have a decent shot against Dawson if they fought. If Dawson fought a boring fight moved and did not try to look good and hurt B-Hop Dawson could easily get the decision. Knowing Dawson though I think Hopkins would draw into a fight that Hopkins has the advantages, if he is able to get Dawson off his game it is over with Hopkins will win easily.

Interesting fight but if I handled Dawson I would not put him in there with Hopkins, it is a very risky fight that could ruin him.

Hm Mmm... It Would Be A Gamble That Dawson Would Not Want To Pass Up I Think Though...

I Mean If He Knocked Hopkins Out After This Fantastic Fight And Beating Roy Jones... It Would Make Dawson Look Like The New King Of Boxing Point Blank.

And A Loss Would Just Be That He Lost To An Atg Of The Game Especially After Hopkins Performance...

And Hopkins Losing Would Just Be Passed Off As "he Got Old And Age Finally Caught Up With Him.. The Pavlik Fight Was All He Had Left"

And Then Everyone Is Saved In That Last Scenario.

          fellas

dawson is fast...and has good movement...but his chin is worse than pavlik and dawson doesnt hit hard...he landed good shots on tarvers jaw and he looked like he could have gone twelve more...johnson didnt have a scratch either...

dawson isnt as rough and tumble as pavlik either ...popkins would pull the trick bag out without question on dawson..

I think he's pretty set on fighting Jones. That would be a good fight to end his career.

I think that makes an interesting fight i think Dawson looked very skillful in his last fight. He hurt Tarver several times (to the body) as did Hopkins. He also has got the speed and fluid combos that could keep Hopkins guessing himself. I think its a pick me fight but i give the slight edge to Bhop still because of his ability to infight and his sucess with southpaws. Peace out

If Dawson goes into a fight with Hopkins thinking about a knockout he will get beat easily. No one will knock out B-Hop and if you try to do that it is a terrible, terrible mistake (imo). Hopkins ruins fighters almost no one looks the same after they fight him.

I just do not think anyone can look good in beating B-Hop, if you beat B Hop ugly you barely beat an old man and did not even do it impressively. To hard core fans it would be alright but most hardcore fans dismissed Taylor after those fights and Calzaghe had mad **** talked about him.

If Dawson loses, Hopkins usually destroys his foes mentally, that is usually much tougher to come back from. I do not know if Dawson is mentally strong enough to hold up during the fight and if Hopkins gets the best of him he may never be the same.

If someone can convince Hopkins that it's time to retire it's Dawson. People think that Dawson is like Pavlik, just some young up and comer who's too inexperienced for someone like Hopkins. If you watched the Dawson/Tarver fight you will be memorized how good this kid is, and not only that, Hopkins at his age might have one of those bad nights again, such as when he fought Wright.

People think Hopkins will expose Dawson, it's the other way around, Dawson will expose him. He may not have have the ring intelligence like Hopkins, but Dawson has ring intelligence alright. His mix up game to the head and body is absolutely beautiful to watch, there isn't too many boxers who can throw fast wicked combination's like Dawson does. Not Wladimir, not Cotto, not Williams, not Juan Diaz, not anyone. How is Hopkins suppose to nullify Dawson's 6 punch combination's?

That makes me happy to hear good opposition... thats why i said would it be worth the risk for hopkins... because i feel that dawson is dangerous.. but low reward.. because if he wins its just another notch and not some huge win like it would be for him beating jones.. or one of the heavyweigts.
