Not entirely, nope. But I would hazard that being down to the weight and the underrating of Hopkins by Team Pavlik.
Listen man, Pavlik's my boy and I was gutted last night, but he's just not on Hopkin's levels. Hopkins is too smart and too elusive for Pavlik. There's no disgrace in that, Hopkins is a freak of nature and one of the best boxers of his time.Comment

xactly what i mean. yeah bhop is a freak, and would have won regarless most likely, but kelly was not right, he would have put on a much better showing for himself. that's all i'm saying. Not entirely, nope. Yeah, man. I mean, it's hard to accept that he didn't even win of the later rounds against a 43 year old Hopkins. A brilliant boxer, but a 43 year old boxer still.
It wasn't even competitive
Props on the avayar, btw. Think I'm getting a Pav one. These ****ers who have turned their back on him, like those who did it with Cotto, need to realise that not every boxer is flawless. Most aren't. But doesn't mean you turn on them when they lose.Comment

yeah man. i agree. i never abandon my boys! i was so pissed. not at the loss, they happen, and hop was unbeatable, but at least let your ****ing hands go! part was because of bhop, but part was i don't know. oh well, it is what it is at this point, andhe's still the champ. hopefully he is ok mentally, and comes back stronger!Yeah, man. Re not letting his hands go- I always refer to that quote that some people use, that if a boxer isn't executing a plan, it's for a reason. If he's not doing something, it's because he can't.yeah man. i agree. i never abandon my boys! i was so pissed. not at the loss, they happen, and hop was unbeatable, but at least let your ****ing hands go! part was because of bhop, but part was i don't know. oh well, it is what it is at this point, andhe's still the champ. hopefully he is ok mentally, and comes back stronger!
If he wasn't letting his hands go, it's because he was getting countered so good.
If Cotto wasn't going to Marg's body, it was because he knew he'd be getting an uppercut in response.
It's not like he forgot or was careless. He just couldn't do it.Comment

thats not the point, you gonna sit there and say that pavlik was himself?
of course he was himself, the same old slow pavlik with two left feet. the fact that pavlik was way overhyped to begin with. he beats a dumb taylor and a weight drained miranda and all of a sudden his is some p4p beast. pavlik is not on bhops level and will never beComment

I think it was mostly what Hopkins did that affected Kelly. Fighting over his normal weight, trying too hard and the moment likely contributed a little bit also.
The biggest thing with Kelly that surprised me, is that he did exactly what he was not supposed to do. He kept trying to chase Hopkins down. He did not have too. He should have just stood his ground and worked on his range himself. Every step he took forward, Bernard would then step forward, fire a quick combo and then step back out. Bernard had him chasing for range all night. All Pavlik needed was patience, but he tried to rush things.
Pavlik spent the whole night trying to get set. Did he not watch Hopkins fight before? The entire fight just seemed so strange like he trained for someone completely different. Maybe he just isn't capable against a lateral mover of Bernards calibre.Comment

yeah dean. i was pissed. loss is not big deal, but he was just bad! oh well, he had to try, and never quit. back to 60! he is clearly a fighter that is ment to be a true middleweight!I think it was mostly what Hopkins did that affected Kelly.
