No he can't. It's a matter of styles and in the back of most of our minds, we thought that Hopkins could pull off another Tito/Tarver type of performance but were hesitant to make that prediction due to his age and stamina issues against Calzaghe.

Pavlik's style was perfect for him. Against someone like Dawson, he wouldn't get off offensively very much and the best he could do is make it hard to score for the judges by doing alot of holding and throwing right hand counters occasionally.

I would pick Dawson by decision but Chad wouldn't look as great as he did against Tarver. It could be sloppy and close like Winky vs Hopkins was.

I think that winning a title at 24, having 4 top 10 wins at light heavyweight and beating 3 world champions is past the hype stage there. A young prospect can be hype, where as a proven 2x world champion like Dawson is not. I think that this fight would turn out like the way Hopkins fight against Taylor and Calzaghe did. A case where a young fighter is simply too fast and has too much variety of tools in his arsenal. Pavlik didn't have that. He was a one two kind of a fighter, was also smaller and Hopkins was able to exploit that, something that he couldn't do against Dawson. Chad is a full light heavyweight and a great boxer, a southpaw on top of that. I think he would out work Hopkins and win a decision.

Hopkins fighting the best LH at the moment.I hope Hopkins doesn't overlook him.

Hopkins would own Chad. But he should let Chad go after the rest of the alphabet belts and target the Roy-Joe C winner.

I think Dawson would beat Hopkins, in a close fight.

Hopkins has trouble with speed, and Dawson has it. He is also more adaptable than Kelly Pavlik.
