Whoa Hopkins. What a fighter. After 2 rounds I found myself rooting for Hopkins. What a great performance. I hoped for a Pavlik win pre-fight, but I must say it felt so good to see the old guy pull it off.
Pavlik was taken to school tonight.Comment

I've expressed a lot of negative posts about B-Hop here in the past, but I must admit he was brilliant tonight.
And he didn't win through headbutts and other illegal tactics. At age 43, he thoroughly outboxed and outfought a world champion in his prime!
For the first time, I acknowledge Bernard Hopkins is an all-time great.Comment

Tunney, always respect you as a poster, but your negativity towards Hopkins was highly annoying. I assumed you were somewhat racist too. I came on here expecting to rip everyone a new ******* for all the red K and flaming I have received in expressing my opinion that Hopkins would ruin Pavlik. I told many people I would quote their god awful predictions and expected to find some denial. But damn, you surprised me with this thread. Great post dude, I just hope the majority of people here are being as mature about it as you are. I gotta tell you, most people at Boardwalk Hall were rooting for Pav, and there was a lot of ****faced dead-silent fans boarding the Ohio buses after the fight. My only hope is that my man Pav comes back hard after this fight and uses this to improve (and maybe get a new team).Comment

I'm very happy to hear that.
I'm so glad hopkins redeamed himself. Wether we admit it or not, about liking/respecting a boxer, it has a lot to do with character.
I'm seeing even Calzaghe fans giving him credit, which I wouldn't have seen if it wasn't for last night.
Hopkins, you are the man.Comment

I had Kelly by UD but was considering a punt on Hopkins as I think he was being put as too much of an under dog.
Sensational performance, really was. Was saying with T-97 during, he's gona fade around round 6 but man, he paced himself perfectly throughout. Clearly Calzaghes speed, pace and stubborness are what over came Hops, and Pavlik didn't have any of those things to enough of a degree. Pavlik looked like a broken man in there at times, akin to Kessler when he also was softly spoken in his corner perplexed.
Hopkins deserves a lot of respect for this win. He composed himself in and out of the ring very well, showed very good judgement and just flawlessly eased to a win. A complete shut out. Fair do's to all those giving him the deserved props, veteran stylee.Comment
