I think Hopkins could have beaten almost anybody at 175 with the performance he put on against Pavlik, if he can reproduce that type of performance against Dawson, then he wins but he goes back to 1 punch at a time and clinch and only fighting 6 rounds then it's Dawson's fight.
Bernard Hopkins vs. Chad Dawson

This is a dangerous fight for anyone at LHW and without too much incentive. Ideally I'd like to see him fight Jones in a farewell fight, but if Jones loses a Calzaghe rematch wouldn't be awful. I'm tending towards the "Jones or nothing" camp at this moment.Comment

I think Hopkins is too tricky for Dawson - Dawson is an excellent boxer, but Hopkins is a more sophisticated fighter.Comment

Dawson wasn't ready for BHop before the Glen Johnson fight.
Take that experience and combine it with the confidence gained by dominating Tarver, and you've got a supremely talented fighter that is getting better and better.
His focus against Tarver was the best I've seen (in him). He really seems to have matured and his defense is a lot better.
He would beat Glen Johnson a lot easier the next time.
BHop would lose to Chad.Comment

interestingly enough, so far Bernard has only lost to really quick guys who just throw a ton of combos before he can respond, like Taylor and Calzaghe. thats almost exactly the kind of fighter Dawson is.
but I never can pick against Hopkins.Comment

Dawson is quick, thats something KP didnt bring to the table. Now, I'd fancy Dawson to outpoint BH, but no doubt prime BH would be too much for most.Comment
