Is it time for Pavlik to get a new trainer?

Loew has done well to help Kelly get this far but I feel he doesnt have the skills to take him to the next level. I think Kelly would benefit from Manny Steward or someone like him to teach him the tools he needs to reach the next level. Drop the ego Jack and do whats right for Kelly.

While I'm not making ANY excuses to undermind Hops brilliant performance tonight, Kelly was clearly not prepared for Hopkins. I think it would be in his best interest, if not to replace him, to get some added variables in trainers and maybe some specialists. I just don't think, as you said, Jack has the tools to take Kelly to "that" level.

As a cornerman Loew is terrible, as I've frequently said. Regardless of whether he replaces Loew he needs a better voice in command in his corner, especially given his relative inexperience as a fighter.

Kelly will never leave here and why would he? His fans and community love him. He loves them back equally and has been a great asset to his community. To tell him to move out is like telling a zebra to lose his stripes.

Funny, I was thinking about that before the fight, on my way home today. He was technically outclassed by Hopkins, he needs a Mayweather or Roach to teach him better defense.

Jack Loew has his limitations, it's actually surprising Pavlik got this far without a world-class trainer.

Right, to me Pavlik is a guy who looks to his corner moreso than adjust on his own in the ring so I think whoever is in the corner would matter alot to what he does. Loews advice tonight was double the fing jab?! What? lol

I think he should at least bring in someone else to take over main training duties, but replacing Loew wouldn't be a bad idea, as Tengoshi said, Loew doesn't do good work in the corner, the advice from him is pretty basic, double jab right hand, jab right hand etc. Miguel Diaz gives better advice in the corner.

bring in someone else in addition. lowe is good for some things, and kelly is comfortable with him, but it's obvious he needs more help.
