While I usually always talk up Kelly Pavlik, and usually with good reason, tonight - was Bernard Hopkin's night. The man turned back the clock and looked probably as good as I have ever saw him. Kelly couldn't do anything but just stand there and wonder.
I will not take anything away from Pavlik and I still, as most do, think he is unbeatable at 160. I do, however, think this was a good lesson for him and he can continue to grow and learn. Bernard showed true class at the end and gave Kelly some great advice and honored him like a true great of the sport.
The fight tonight, as I said in a previous thread, would need the version of Hopkins like the Hop that showed up against Tarver and who shows up tonight - THAT Hopkins x10. The man was in great shape and did what he does best, effectively. Controlled the ring and the action from the opening bell and did it without foul. (almost lol.) I take my hat off to him as a Kelly fan and I give him all the credit in the world as a fan of boxing.
Cong**** Bernard, you deserved it from bell to bell sir. Well done.
