bro, the whole point is, if the shoe does not fit, don't force it too. i never called you out, but you came in here like i did. i never asked you to tell me you respect him. i see now that whenever i post, i just better be ready for you're emotional respone...that's ok.

btw, i feel pw beat margo. i do feel that margo can win a rematch, but i'm not all the way sold yet. just as i said about cotto and margo, pw may just have margo's number, it happens.

I don't see it as a big "IF" Margarito beats Cotto in the rematch, like some are saying. I've stated in other threads that Tony winning the first fight had nothing to do with Cotto not sticking to his gameplan...it was Margarito that didn't allow him to stick to it.

Cotto's got much better boxing ability than Margarito, no doubt. But I see the rematch playing it out much the same way...with Cotto dominating from a boxing standpoint in the first half of the fight with Tony coming forward and returning whatever he can. Tony's pressure will again get to Cotto in the second half and Margarito will start winning some rounds. A knockdown or two late will seal a clear points win for Tony. Cotto will make it all 12 this time I think...he's a proud fighter.

Margs has plenty of respect from me but it's purely a pick nothing to do with who I favour personally. I think Cotto can make the right adjustments and beat Margarito in the rematch. Cotto was winning the first 6 rounds and if he fought like that but didn't expend as much energy then he could win IMO.

I wasn't directing it particularly at you.some marga fans feel the same.respect gets got in the ring and he's worked his ass off to get it. i see why he deserves it, but I'm damn sure he could careless what we think.

i also agree that margo will win. i'm just trying to be objective, and find out why so many cotto fans are so sure cotto will win the rematch.

also that is a good point, margo blocked the shots to the body when cotto went there, and cotto stopped. tony had alot to do with cotto's "game plan" breaking down.

some fans are like that.you know, they're fans.that's what they do.they stick around.if they didn't they really wouldn't be fans.they'd be bandwagoners.

that is true, but i'm still a fan. it's not like margo is putting money in my pocket. i guess it really all comes down to bragging rights.

still thatwas not the point of this. there are many that don't give the man his proper do, if you are not one of those people, don't trip. if so, what will it take for the man to get your respect.

like i said, this topic was not about just respect, it was more of a case of finding out how cotto will win/make adjustment to win, instead of just saying "i'm a cotto fan, he wil win".

The body shots werent there and they are unlikely to be there in the rematch either, thats coz Tony blocks them well.

Its not so much the gameplan failed for me its more he was too proud to clinch which im certain he will now realise he will have to, it will stifle margs attack, run out the clock and let him catch a breather all at once. Also the nose injury imo played a BIG part in his downfall and im HOPING that dont happen again but hey his nose didnt break its self Tony did it so i aint taking anything away from him but if Miguel can avoid an injury like that that ****s his breathing up and ties Tony up from time to time i think the fights his.

Im betting ALL my points on it and a couple of hundred pounds down the bookies too

Me neither. Some people just have your number. Margarito got Cotto's.

I reckon he knocks Cotto out faster next time, now he knows that A) Cotto can't hurt him, and B) he doesn't have to change anything to get the job done. All he has to do is pressure Cotto and he will eventually crumble.

i'm glad you brought that up. you see, most of the boxing public loves to say that paul williams smacked margo around...not true. the one huge thing that won pw that fight, was his ability to tie margo up. pw would get off, and not let margo. a fact that most never even bring up when talking about the pw/margo fight.

now as far as cotto goes, he just isn't that type of fighter to clinch. he only really does it when he is hurt. i do agree that it would help him, i'm just not sure for a fighter that has not done that his whole career to just become a good clincher for one fight. i mean, what if he tries to clinch at the wrong time? you know. plus pw was one of the only fighters i have seen be able to really tie margo up(do to his long frame). margo keeps his elbows in so you have to reach your arms all the way around his body the hold him, that is not a good thing against margo, who is very good in the inside. but i see where you are coming from. that would help cotto in the rematch.
