Marquez-Diaz, Katsidis-Chavez Eyed By Golden Boy

A few weeks back, I reported that Golden Boy Promotions was looking at a possible doubleheader for Houston, Texas, in early 2009, with the main event pitting WBA featherweight champion Chris John (41-0, 22KOs) against hometown favorite Rocky Juarez (28-4, 20KOs), and a co-feature battle between former lightweights champions Michael Katsidis (23-2, 20KOs) and Jesus Chavez (44-4, 30KOs). Marquez vs Diaz needs to happen.. Marquez is just fighting old and wash up fighters. His resume is full of shot fighters. This will be one of the biggest test for him

Marquez should take the fight and solidify his reign as the dominant 135 King. A win over Diaz would produce that. Make it happen Golden Girls.

Marquez should go on with his life. stop chasing Pacman, it's very humiliating for a fighter for not moving on. It's just only Pacquiao is rare thing and better fighter in this era, He must gain respect on his own, fighting boxers at 135 lbs, And i think no matter what happens in Dec. 6, you and pacman will go separate ways. who might know, Before year ends in 2009, you might just get a chance to fight him, But for now moveon, And prove urself.

although i want marquez to get nate's belts, a bout with juan diaz will be a good scrap...

and katsidis will be in another Good fight, and IMHO would or could probably win this one...

I was more interested in a John-Juarez fight than Marquez-Diaz. Other than youth, I don't see Diaz having any other advantage over Marquez, but it should be a good fight. I hope Campbell signs with Golden Boy since that is the only way he'll get to fight the winner. Otherwise he'll be stuck in the endless cycle of mandatories.

De La Hoya is really putting his own career over anyone of the fighters he promotes, he takes the fighter JMM wants then turns around and takes his trainer too, bad business to be a promoter and a active fighter it seems like. Hard to look out for your fighters best intrest in their careers when your more worried about your own.
