It's amusing how angry you get at the thought of Pavlik losing. Chill, homeboy, it's just another boxing match!lol months away from being 44 and you guys sit here and question a 90% KO ratio fighter against him like this is supposed to be some kind of second coming. Gimme a break. SOOOO many people want to see vintage Hop in there taking out the lion like he used to do with his speed and elusiveness (not to mention dirty bull****.) Hopkins isn't the same fighter he was 7 years ago. He hasn't even shown that he can handle a big fight while coming out on top. He holds, hits, holds, headbutts, elbows, holds and hits - - THEN -cries about the decision and has the ****ing balls to say, "the fans saw and they can judge who won." Sorry to burst the tire in your wheelchair Nard, you lost. Bernard, as I have said many times, does enough to not lose - Kelly Pavlik does everything in his power to win. Point blank and period. Pavlik by KO.
Throughout the years there have been plenty of occasions when a young, hungry lion has to put his skills up against a seasoned veteran of the game. Quite often the lion gets tamed. Bernard Hopkins is a seasoned vet. He became one for a reason.
I'm not saying Pavlik won't win. Anything can happen, but you shouldn't put all your eggs into one basket when it comes to a fighter who isn't 100% proven against the elites.
Me and you have a bet, and I firmly believe that you'll owe me 4k points after this fight. I could be wrong, but looking at this sensibly, and actually, I have no particular bias for either fighter, common sense tells me Pavlik will not be able to KO Bernard Hopkins. It's never been done. Hopkins hasn't even been knocked over since 1994, and that was only due to lack of acclimatization to almost 10,000 feet altitude. What you are doing is acting as though something that is virtually impossible is guaranteed.

As the fight nears, I'm starting to feel the same way. Pavlik lacks the skill to hang with someone like Bernard. He's basically a 1-2 puncher. At 170lbs he won't have the same effect he had at Middle. Pavlik's going down!!!Comment

In a non-title light heavyweight shocker, 43-year-old former middleweight champion and ring legend Bernard Hopkins (49-5-1, 32 KOs) stunned previously unbeaten, current WBC/WBO world middleweight champion, and 4:1 betting favorite Kelly Pavlick (34-1, 30 KOs) taking a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision on Saturday night before 11,332 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Hopkins looked like the younger fighter as he consistently beat the 26-year-old Pavlik to the punch. Pavlik never got into a rhythm as Hopkins punished him the entire way. Scores were 119-106, 118-108, 117-109. Since the contract weight was 170 lbs., Pavlik remains WBC/WBO middleweight champion.Comment
