Is hopkins taking this fight for his legacy or for money ?

After watching the countdown I'm starting to think that Hopkins might just be able to pull it off because Kelly comes forward and he doesnt have a lot of boxing skills ..hes more of a brawler ...and like hopkins said ... does kelly have a back up plan if coming forward and bullying doesnt work ? lets not forget hopkins is a master craftsman ... he makes every fighter look bad and he never loses fights convincingly ... agree? ...

in my opninion... it will be like the last few fights hopkins has lost...

both taylor bouts .. i thought b hop did enough to pull it off but its arguable ....he definitely does not lose any respect in either bout

calazaghe ---i thought b hop pulled it off ... but again its arguable ...

kelly - - - i think it will be the same situation ... it will be a close disputable decision ... but kelly will probably win ...

    anyone agree?

I think it's more legacy and pride than money. You just don't tell a gym rat like Hopkins that his career is over because he's 43.

He should have enough money by now. I think he just wants to prove he's still got it.

Its a combination of both. Money is the ultimate motivator.

I win over Pavlik makes the two taylor losses disappear. I think B hop want to prove he can still hang.

Both though he admitted his main reason to continue fighting is "back pay" since he didn't start getting big money fights until later in his career.

"I wonder after all the big fights you've had," said Rafael, "and the titles and the money and all the stuff, what is your motivation to keep fighting at your age?"

"My motivation is back pay," said Hopkins. "And I'm a late bloomer. As you look at my history for years, the last five years has been a blessing for Bernard Hopkins and my family and it reflects that and I have done well. I've done well in the ring and I've done well in financing dealing with Richard Schafer who comes from financial banking industry. I've made some great investments."

I wouldn't go as far as saying that Pavlik is a str8 brawler. He fights on the inside. So when B-hop starts getting all grabby, Pavlik should be able to keep him at Bay on the inside.

I think B-Hop is taking this fight not for legendary status or for money...i think it's the warrior in him that keeps him fighting. He's already what? 43?

Hopkins is one of my top 5 favorite fighters ever...and i think hes fighting for the money. I cant believe that he himself actually thinks hes gonna win this fight. Pavlik throws alotta punches like calzaghe. Hopkins started to look more tired as the calzaghe fight went on, and i dont think it was because of conditioning. I think its because hes gettin older. But maybe im wrong, maybe hopkins does have a chance. Pavlik does leave himself open more then calzaghe...but how much power does hopkins have, or how much power will hopkins still have half way through the fight?
