WBC super bantamweight champ Israel Vazquez is answering the call of his WBO counterpart, Juan Manuel Lopez. For the last few weeks, Lopez has been calling for a unification bout with Vazquez. While the Mexican champion is open to the idea of fighting Lopez, he doesn't believe the fight makes financial sense at this time. I also agree..and if anyone even suggests Vazquez is ducking Lopez he/she must be an idiot. It makes a lot of sense that Lopez builds his resume by beating some of the other top 122 fighters. I also agree he should look to fight the winner of Molitor vs Caballero, both very good boxers.

Vazquez has a good point. He just established his dominance in that division with three BRUTAL battles, if he wants to take one of on the easier side, I say let him. And he makes a good point about Juanma, if this kid is for real the fight will be much bigger a couple of fights down the road.
No need to rush it, let Juanma prove himself.

yeah man i respect vazuqez alot,one of my favorite fighters..but he's pulling a mayweather speech. BUT! i read the whole article and he's looking fpward on fighting lopez so that's all that matters.

aint gonna talk **** about vazquez.... hes right in his comments.. and im sure he will stick to his word and give juanma an opportunity to shine... of course if juanma is still performing the way a lot of ppl expect him to do.

This situation is looking very, very good.

Reasons why Vazquez is right
He has been to hell and back three straight fights, he deserves an easy fight.
Lopez has not built his stock enough to make this a big $$$ fight for either. Waiting benefits both.
The longer they wait, the more likely it is that Lopez can pick up another belt and make it a 3 belt unification instead of a fourth.

Reasons why it is good for Lopez to wait
He might still be a bit green, every fight means chances for mistakes to be corrected.
He has looked spectacular in his two championship fights, but him getting some more championship rounds would be a good idea before going against Vazquez.

I can't wait... whenever this comes off, I can't wait.
