This is not good. Cotto needs to get in the ring with someone else. I have confidence that he can win, but to get right back in the ring with Margo? Is Arum ******ed? Let him get his ring bearings back with someone else, get some confidence built up. ******, ****** move.
I'm not sure if it's wise for Cotto to jump straight back into the ring with Margarito, anyways, all the fights mentioned in the article are good fights that I wouldn't mind seeing.
it kills me how every1 thinks they know what's "BEST" for miguel cotto. you guys have never stepped into a boxing ring, never trained a boxer............cotto is a man. as a man, if you lose a fight, you get back up and fight again. if anything, it will be ballsy for cotto to jump back up and go right back at margarito. you guys should stop acting like you're some kind of expert on boxing or psychology..........paul williams didn't take a "tune-up"after he got his ass whooped by quintana, he got up, fought the man in his very next fight, and ko'ed him in the first round, showing what every1 already knew- he was the BETTER FIGHTER......
Cotto is fine he does not need a tuneup. Taylor did not get a tuneup after Pavlik. He needs to go right back directly at Margarito by getting this big matchup out the way so others can happen. I can't believe ppl wanna see a tuneup first let the best fights happen. And much respect to Mosley for even considering a fight with Paul Williams unlike the Tornado, I hope he takes that fight instead of Berto so Collazo can get his title shot.
I'm telling you guys, it wouldn't make a good fight. Margarito is Cotto's Unicorn. He can't get past him. Margarito did a number on him mentally, and i don't think he'll be able to recovery from that.
As far as for Mosely? I don't think this would be a good fight for Mosely. If i were Mosely, i would take a couple medium fights to stay sharp but not see something as devestating as Margarito.
like i said above.....you're no psychologist. what margarito did to cotto was more physical than anything. cotto is looking at it like HE made strategic mistakes that he believes he will be able to correct in the rematch. that's the way he has to think if he plans on being successful. its funny b/c every1 was saying the same **** about quintana. "stylisticly" it was a bad fight for williams.....the rematch would go the same. ppl act like margarito basically beat the **** outta cotto, but the fight i saw was very different. in fact, cotto dominated margarito the first six rounds, but the broken nose didn't help him later........cotto is a man. quit treating him like he's a baby. he's a fighter, and kudos to him for wanting to fight the man that beat him. to me, he's already setting himself up for success, b/c he's thinking about things he will do differently the second time around. i'm glad he doesn't view margarito like some of you do, as an unstoppable beast.....he's an average fighter at best, but he has a helluva chin and a helluva heart. you got to come out with a plan to box him for 12 rounds, not knock him out, and if cotto plans on just boxing the **** outta him, i think he will win the rematch. point is, let him get one before you write him off....
damn, the guy had a lot of success the first time around, he made some mistakes that margarito capitalized on. in no way is margarito the superior fighter, and as long as cotto believes that, he SHOULD want to fight him again. gimme a ****in break........
I am very close to the golden boy promotions people and what they told me is that the fight to make is Mosley-Forrest 3. because they will make the whole promotion, they wont have to share 50 % with top rank.
so that is the reason why the fight wont happen soon

Money grabbing fcukers like they dont have enough already
like some one stated it would be great to see cotto/cintron, and marga/mosley. to see how each would do against a fighter the other has already beat. can marga do what cotto couldnt with mosley and stop him. can cotto finish cintron inside 5-6 rounds..and then lead up to the rematch.

completely agree...........

Sorry but you sound piss for some reason, You claim people are not cotto but you seem to be writing in telling us whats best for cotto.
Cotto taking a tune-up or people suggesting it isnt a weakest on cotto's part and it doesnt make Margarito look like a god, Only cotto knows whats good for cotto, It might be good for him to take a rest, tune up then go after Margarito again.

makes no sense. Styles make match-ups, and its never told a story how good 1 is in comparison to somebody else, judging by a fight with a similar opponent. Forrest beat mosely twice!!! Mayorga beat forrest twice, so conventional wisdom should say mayorga beats the **** outta shane, right?? margarito went to-to-toe with cintron, and stopped him w/ a single body shot in rounds 5 & 6. cotto could make an even bigger statement in my opinion, than margarito did, by completely outboxing ths **** outta cintron over twelve rounds.....

you're saying the same thing I was saying….cotto is a man, a fighter, and if he wanted to climb right back in with margarito, its HIS choice. My beef was ppl saying its not smart for him to do that, or that he's somehow "psychologically" damaged. That’s the same **** they said about williams-quintana.....it was exactly my point that cotto can make his own decisions, and he said it doesn't matter when he gets margarito again.........
