Paul Williams is listed as 6'1, but according to eyewitness reports from other boxers and people who have met Williams in person, he is about 6'3-6'4. He stands a couple of inches taller than Andy Kole who is listed as 6'1 and more than 2 + inches than Margarito. Dont listen to the Williams nuthuggers. Dude is ****ing tall. Look at the pics.

Listen, I been through the trenches in many boxing gyms from L.A. to Miami. I've had the opportunity to stand next to many pro boxers. It's the manager who bull****s about their height on paper in most cases. I understand why, it's a mental advantage when other managers try to match up their fighters with others. De La Hoya is 5'9"(claims 5'10" 1/2), Pretty boy on a good day is 5'7"...a good day.(claims 5'8") Cotto is 5'7"(I've seen many stats showing him at 5'8" bull****!) I can go on and on. I've stated it many times. De La Hoya wears lifts when in public or at promotion events. That's been known...People are going to realize this for the first time when he and his opponent are in the middle of the ring with their boxing shoes on. Just go to you-tube and see how Oscars height varries from the ring to the podiem when doing promotions. In one video he even looks taller than Randy Corture (mma heavyweight who stands a shade over 6'1")with no shoes....lol....I understand why he does it but do you?

I've seen a picture of Mora and De la Hoya standing next to each other at a boxing gym and Mora looks a good 4 inches taller.

Its not height that matters, its weight and overall mass. DLH might not be much taller than Pac but hes barrel chested and has really broad shoulders and just much more overall size than Pac. I never cared for the height arguments against Paul Williams either.

I'd say Williams is at least 6'2", maybe 6'3".


Anyway DLH is at least 5'10", but more importantly has boxed as high as MW. Pacquiao just moved up from 130lbs.

the reason for the outcry is not height. it's that De La Hoya is a natural 150lber while Pacquiao is a natural 130lber.

height and reach advantage are important but that's not why dlh/pac is a mismatch. dlh is basically a super middleweight when he gets in the ring. pac is a welterweight on fight night.

nobody is calling on margarito to fight dawson because its a damned mismatch
