****. On E60 he said fighters didn't want to fight Kelly because he's white and guys don't want to get beat by a white guy. Ummm... someone should tell Mancini's senile ass, that fighters, managers, promoters, etc. don't want to get beat by nobody. Boxing's image isn't that good in the first place without this twat spreading false stereotypes and statements. After that dumbass comment he should to be banned from commentating for being an idiot.

It's TRUE....even the Pavlik camp has said it numerous times. Malignaggi had the same problem. Nobody wants to take a risk against a "white boy" because they feel that they don't have the goods to be in the elite. So then if they beat a certain fighter as a fluke, they really don't make money. BOTH camps will tell you that being white was a huge obstacle in boxing.
In Europe its different...that's actually on the other side of the spectrum. If your a halfway decent, white fighter in America, just barely making it by, you can achieve more and gain a bigger following with less difficulty.Last edited by MikeBrew328; 10-14-2008, 07:09 PM.

Lots of people will call Sam Peter a bum now, as they did to poor Jeff Lacy after the loss to Calzaghe.

Mancini is actually right. There is no doubt that losing to a white fighter is looked down upon unless it's a real good fighter. White fighters are at a disadvantage coming up since whites for the most part have not dominated in boxing(especially american whites). Most white fighters come off as a shade bit slower and less powerful as black fighters. So, if you take a fight with a white and lose it will be a bigger question mark on your resume.
