I was at that fight at the Staples Center and it was one of most exciting boxing experiences I've had. There really is a different atmosphere about a heavyweight title fight. It's just too bad the fight ended with an injury. The doctor allowed the fight to go on as long as he possibly could.

WLAD OWNS says otherwise about the cut.

            Hell yeh Mel..
Lewis lost his bottle when it comes to VK...

The first fight was the most exciting fight Lewis has ever been in
because he threw his safety first approach out the window and just went for it

Anyway, i thought the fight HAD to be stopped those cuts were TERRIBLE!
That was the fight i became a Vitali fan in (tho im far from a fanatic) it was the making of him, battling a legend toe to toe through the blood and defiantly wanting the fight to continue, crushing talk of him lacking heart after the Byrd fight.

Prime LL beats him tho, and yeah i know out of prime Lewis did too.

Question tho, was this a classic slugfest between the two best big men on the planet as ive heard? Or as ive also heard said, a sloppy fight by two uncoirdinated lumps, one a robot and the other old and heavy?

Ur take? Do u rate it?
no hw fight was better ever since.

Yes, it was a good match. Vitali has Lewis wobbling a little bit and kept him away with his jab. They both had an exceptional jab and kept each other at bay....

                I'd like to see a re-match

Lewis looked like absolute garbage but was wily enough to mix it up inside in such a way to pull it out with that savage cut. He was able to adapt though overmatched in terms of conditioning that night.

The personalities in the Lewis-Klitschko fight were much bigger, but for action Brewster-Lyakhovich was superior. It's unfortunate that neither is a big mouth who would hype the fight up greater.

Man, I wish that fight would have continued. You can tell that Vitali was about to get knocked out soon. Round 6 Lewis was landing hard shots and all Vitali did most of the round is try and hug lewis all day. He was hurt bad and he didn't even attempt to throw punches instead he charged forward and just clinches most of the round while lewis still landed some hard shots. Vitali is good, but no where near as great as Lennox Lewis. That was his best chance to beat Lewis and he blew it. Lewis comming in out of shape and no regard for his own protection in this fight, he just went for it and busted Vitali up good. A focused in shape Lewis would box the break Vitali down and knock him out in the later rounds.
