Hopkins wanted Pavlik. Pavlik didn't want hopkins. He knows what he's doing. This time around, he'll do the talking in the ring. He isn't in this fight for selling PPV's and getting a huge payday. He's in there with Pavlik for LEGACY. That's the difference between this fight and a lot of other fights where you see Hopkins act like a clown and talkin **** pre-fight. Hopkins is focused. He sees something and he cannot wait to try and exploit it!

He ALWAYS talked crap ..every fight... The Tarver, the Winky..the JT fights.

I dont get what you are saying. It really doesnt make sense. He knows he is in for a beating that stubborn old man. Gotta love em though...

I take no notice of the drama before a fight anymore. So many times I thought one guy got the mental edge only to be proved seriously wrong. I wouldn't look too deeply into how Bernard is acting right now.

Why would he WANT to get beat? It's not like this is a mandatory fight or any demand for them to fight. Hopkins seeked out a fight with Pavlik, he challenged Kelly. Not the other way around. Why would the Proud hopkins take a fight he knows he's going to lose?? Not possible, that's not how his brain works. He doesn't believe he can lose and doesn't believe he has ever lost a fight (other then Roy jones which he makes excuses for by saying he was too young). Doesn't make sense why a guy like hopkins would take a fight and "be executed" or whatever that some people are implying.

He believes he can win. If not for the reasons I said then maybe he was humbled and/or embarrassed by losing to Calzaghe after talkin all that **** and is simply trying to do the opposite since he received a lot of negative **** from press/fans.

Yes, good point. Makes perfect sense and I think you might have hit the nail on the head.

well yeah I agree with what you are saying..

but this is Hops..this is SO unlike him..and we arent talking about a 30-32 yr old fighter turning as new leaf..he's 43...he has showed great signs of slowing..

Hops is SET in his ways. His attitude his swager (sp)..gives him a mental edge I think. that attitude that he can be beat or beat up.. he doesnt have that at all right now..

Yeah man, but like Natas said, maybe he's chillin' out on the mouth after the Calzaghe thing / "I'll never let a white boy beat me" type of stuff.

"Swagger" has two G's in it. But I understood what you're saying.
