Oscar had those same plans for Cotto until Marg ruined that...so now he'll do it with Pacman....have Pac beat him...then set up ridicouolous big money fights with Pac vs. Hatton...Diaz...JMM....Mayweather???....all promoted by Golden Boy.

but what about his plans to fight on after this fight, possibly Margarito, Hatton? Why would he sacrifice his legacy for Manny's when he has a chance to headline more fights in the future?

He doesn't appear to care about his legacy anymore, only big $$$$. So he's willing to take that risk. He's a business man now not a boxer anymore.

I'll tell you easily:

because he's going to carry Manny in this fight and turn it into a brutal war then he'll throw the fight in a very close contest either by forcing a SD (paying off the judges) or by being knocked out in the heat of a very close battle where Pacman takes a few knockdowns etc.

This will generate HUGE interest for a rematch and he'll fight Manny in a rematch for a REAL "This is personal" type war then he'll knock the **** out of him for real and move onto hatton/marg etc...and if the people really want it he can take a 3rd match with Manny to 'settle the score' for even more money. He can make probably 200$ million off a trilogy with manny.
