The best fighter at the Olympics this year was a Slavic featherweight from the Ukraine, Vasily Lomachenko. Fighters from the former Soviet republics won five Gold medals at the Olympics this year, the US and Cuba won zero.
There's MANY very talented young fighters in all weight divisions in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Republics in Asia. They'll have most of the titles from featherweight up in a few years.
Even now there's Kotelnik at 140, Dzinziruk at 154, Abraham (born in the Soviet Republic of Armenia) at 160, and Inkin at 168. There will be more by the end of 2009, I promise you.Last edited by The Hammer; 10-13-2008, 01:26 AM.Comment

1) Lomachenko was AWESOME at the Games and could be a star in the U.S. Please turn pro Vasyl (I've heard he's not).
2) Senor Greisman, that is an impressive list you posted. I love Global Boxing even if I hate all the belts and sanc mobs.Comment

Cliff,
Any man who's seen as many Eagle Kyowa fights as you have is a true global boxing fan.Last edited by Mr. David; 10-13-2008, 06:54 AM.Comment

True, but the poorly-educated threadstarter is unable to understand the difference between the Soviet Union and Russia.Comment
