Why did HBO focus on the Hispanic fighter at Pavlik's gym?

During the HBO countdown show, the focus suddenly shifted to a group of Hispanic brothers that train at Kelly Pavilk's gym in Youngstown, Ohio. Do you think this was done to bring the Hispanic interest into the fight? The PPV next week is certainly a loss for HBO, especially with the UFC happening on the same night, for FREE (smart move by Dana). HBO must be getting desperate in selling this PPV farce.
