i'd say its more of a weak character than fear of getting hit hard, vitali psyched him out at the press thing or whatever......peter sure as hell didnt fight like a champion

Peter was gonna lose to someone anyway, he's just not very good. The only thing he ever had was intimidation, his aggressive style and his power. He fought a bigger guy this time who just happened to be able to fight and was completely unafraid of him, so the bully got what he deserved.
