Calzaghe is the linear champ, I think that would be the biggest and best fight for Dawson.

Calzaghe won't get a chance to fight Dawson because he'll retire after losing to RJJ. Even suposing he wins he said he'd retire anyway. Plus there's very little upside in the fight for Calzaghe, well accept for solidifying his legacy and beating a legit threat in his prime with some real names on his record. Kessler is good and in his prime but I don't think he ever beat anyone of note. If Joe fought Dawson, won and then retired I say he's a guaranteed first-ballot hall-of-famer.

Dawson might concentrate on getting his WBC title back now. Diaconu is supposed to fight an ancient Silvio Branco for the belt and will likely win, the winner is supposed to fight Glen Johnson I think.

Dawson's only weakness is that he doesn't have the sturdiest chin ever. But Calzaghe doesn't have any power, so I don't see how he could touch Dawson.

There's a world of difference between Kessler and Chad Dawson.
