if Pavlik doesnt fight him in 2009 then he will lose alotttt of respect and credit from the fans.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO BIGGER Fight for Pavlik than Abraham at this point.
For those that really know their boxing, we know that Pavlik at this point is nothing without Abraham (even after he beats Hopkins on his crutches) and same with Arthur... doesnt matter who he beats, fans will still ask for Pavlik.

usually the BIGGER name turns down the smaller name, in this case its opposite. nobody here knows abraham, so if he thinks turning down this fight will get him closer to a fight with pavlik, he delusional, as are everybody that has posted on this topic thus far.........
kelly pavlik has moved towards the "proving himself" stage, and is at the one where he "wants the biggest fights he can get." by being a nobody, and turning down a bout with a somebody, abraham surely isn't doing himself any favors............
i can see it already.....pavlik vs. j.c or roy jones or paul williams....or even chad dawson........point is, he's got plenty of more options before he gets to AA. u beat a respected and avoided fighter like winky, ppl take notice, u fight nobodies, like marquez, u get a W........

Its pretty easy to see that if Pavlik does not get his fight with Joe C, then AA is all hes got. What makes you think Pavlik wants to move up to light heavyweight and fight Chad before cleaning out his divison, which is what him, Jack Leow, and Arum have stated countless times. As far as Roy Jones is concerned, unless he can give Joe an ass whooping (unlikely at this point of his career) nobody would want to see Pavlik fighting "past their primes" Joe's leftovers.
judging by the FACT that AA is not known in the states as of yet, only to hardcore fans, pavlik will NOT fight him........there are a few other options pavlik has after his fight w/ b-hop. understand???????
the best thing AA could do is to take the winky fight, win, and get himself some kind of recognition by fighting a KNOWN name......until he does that, and as long as pavlik has OTHER options, against guys people in the states have actually heard of, AA can rule out a fight with pavlik.......
im not saying he doesn't deserve it, i'm saying boxing is a BUSINESS, and promoters, as well as the networks look for maximum profit....if you're a big threat, but still relatively unknown, it will be very, very, very hard to get BIG, BIG fights. the best thing you can do is build a name off other names, and by turning down this fight AA is NOT getting himself any closer to pavlik......
its quite simple to understand..........

this is what i've been saying.......i don't get why people can't understand this.
since when, in boxing, do fighters get fights b/c the hardcore audience wants it? BIG fighters get other BIG fighters in hopes it will draw a larger audience. AA is still relatively a nobody, there is no way he gets pavlik. period.

Calzaghe is undefeated, P4P #3, 2 division champion who holds wins over a few big names.
Abraham is like a decreased version of everything I just named. Not P4P ranked, one division champion, and doesn't really have any huge names on his resume.
Other than Calzaghe, Abraham is probably next on Pavlik's list of people to fight I would think... maybe Wright. Neither has really separated themselves from the other.
And...Who is Wright going to fight now?
