Ok, let me first say that since I am on this site, "as far as athletics go", I am certainly more ethno-centric than average. I pull for Irish athletes the most and then of course any person of European decent second b/c they are closer related genetically to myself. However, my first inclination even before race sometimes is to root for the underdog. Having said that, I find it very hard to root for any black athlete ever, in a sport where the caste system rears its ugly unfair head, even if they are a big underdog.

I can root for an underdog black in swimming (especially long distance swimming...no caste inclinations of speed superiority there) or an underdog black golfer (not Tiger obviously) because if a black wins, it will have little effect on the emasculation of the white man. If Calvin Jones (or whatever his name is) started dominating Michael Phelps all the sudden, I would be upset, b/c I wouldn't want the drunken sports fans to foolishly think blacks are superior across all sports.
